Travis Dunlap

Director of Instruction- a 1989 graduate of Calallen High School, Travis played high school baseball under renowned Texas baseball coach, Steve Chapman. It was under the direction of Coach Chapman that set the foundation for a professional career. Travis was drafted in the 52nd round of the June 1989 draft by the Atlanta Braves after only pitching one season in high school. In 1991, he was an integral part of the pitching staff of the Pulaski Braves, closing out the championship game of the Appalachian League. After 4 seasons in the Braves farm system, he spent the next season in the Dutch Professional League helping Smit & Dorlas Quick win their first regular season championship. After returning to the States, Travis was signed as a free agent by the Kansas City Royals in November 1993. As a member of the 1994 Carolina League Champion Wilmington Blue Rocks, Travis spent one season as a relief pitcher. In late summer of 1994 Travis returned to his hometown of Corpus Christi to pitch the next two seasons for the inaugural Texas Louisiana League Champion Barracudas. After career ending shoulder surgery in 1996, Travis attended college at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, earning a Master's degree in accounting along with his CPA's license.
